Highway sign
Trans-Canada Highway marker
A green shield bearing a white maple leaf marks the Trans-Canada Highway, the national route that crosses Ontario. Route-marker shields identify which numbered highway you are travelling on.
When you see it
- ◆ Use the shield to confirm you are following the correct route.
- ◆ Route markers appear at junctions and after major interchanges.
- ◆ Follow accompanying direction tabs such as "WEST" or "EAST".
