- ✓A stop sign is coming up — slow down and be ready to stop
- ○You may stop here if you wish, but a stop is not required

- ○A yield sign is coming up
Correct answer
A stop sign is coming up — slow down and be ready to stop
This is a warning sign. The Official MTO Driver's Handbook captions it "Stop sign ahead. Slow down." Warning signs are yellow diamonds that alert you to a condition ahead. Note that a white sign with a red circle is a regulatory prohibition sign ("a red circle with a line through it means the activity shown is not allowed"), and the stop sign itself is an eight-sided sign with a red background and white letters.
